]]> By: major tom http://blog.prelode.com/2006/02/phantom-phone-calls/comment-page-3/#comment-75643 major tom Tue, 10 Feb 2009 21:26:50 +0000 http://blog.prelode.com/?p=25#comment-75643 about six months ago i started getting between 3-5 calls a day from the 01792 morons which which i did'nt answer because i did'nt know the number, in the end i coul'dnt take it so gave in and answered, big mistake, as the guy new all my personal details and said "my contract was due for renawal" and kept on and on in the usual pushy way i stupidly gave in and aggreed to the new contract over the phone, just to get rid of him, plus my boss was eyeballing me. any way the phone turned up and i decided by this time i did'nt want it as i did'nt like the way i was sold it, so i called to ask for their returns procedure as they claim to offer but instead was talked out of it, when i checked my existing contract it turned out there was 6 mths remaining as it was an 18 mth contract, i called mobiles direct again, explained the situation asked again for returns procedure and was told to start using the new phone, reduce my existing payments to £10 which they would pay for and either carry 2 phones or divert one to the other! im not that stupid so i said i just want to return it, she then said "she could'nt deal with that and someone would call me back, obviously they never did, i called again, was told the same thing but never heard from them. it was close to 7 days since getting the phone so i contacted trading standards who already had a file on them and advised me what to do. i cancelled my direct debit as advised, i then started getting harassing calls from brain washed morons from 3g who i would spend 10 minutes explaining the dispute and at the end of it they would say "so if you just give me your card details i will take the first payment for you" and i would say something like "get f***d , then i started getting 5 to 10 calls a day from debt collection companies who 3g had set onto me (3 all together) i would just answer the phone and leave it and carry on working, just to run their bill up! they finally got the message and started to send the threatening letters, funny really the cost of all their calls and paper could have paid for several new phones. there is no customer service offered by any of these companies, mobiles direct who once they have made a sale wo'nt deal with you, and 3g who are'nt interested in your dispute and just want your money. it makes me sick when you see them advertising allsorts of claims of customer satisfaction, all lies! i, too, have been receiving calls from different numbers – i have missed all the calls but wondered where they were coming from because when they’re received in the evening, one believes it’s not a business but a personal call!
